State Minister of Artsakh Republic Gurgen Nersisyan convened a working meeting on 29 August ahead of the new academic year, which will start on 1 September.
The office of the State Minister of the Republic of Artsakh reported.
Minister of ESCS Norayr Mkrtchyan presented the results of the discussions and preparations with the representatives of the educational institutions, as well as the problems caused by the complete siege of Artsakh. The Minister emphasized the problems of the severe shortage of stationery, educational materials, food, hygiene items and the lack of transport, stressing that under these conditions, everything possible was done to prepare for the start of the educational process on 1 September.
The State Minister emphasized the need for a comprehensive analysis of existing problems and opportunities and the need to make all efforts for the effective organization of the educational process. Gurgen Nersisyan emphasized that it is necessary to do as much as possible to avoid jeopardizing children’s health under additional threat in the current difficult conditions, while not neglecting the state’s obligation to ensure the right to education.
In addition to the representatives of the Ministry, Human Rights Defender Gegham Stepanyan, National Assembly MPs Aram Grigoryan and Eleonora Avanesyan, Mayor of Stepanakert Davit Sargsyan, other officials also presented their observations and recommendations.
After the topical discussion, the State Minister gave a number of instructions to the authorized body regarding the activities in the coming days, at the same time emphasizing the need for daily monitoring and analysis of the situation in order to make appropriate decisions as needed.
