Previously, there was a dialogue with the Azerbaijani side, when they respected our dignity, somehow understood that we have rights.
The President of the Artsakh Republic, Arayik Harutyunyan stated, in an interview with Public Television, referring to the issue of the various platforms of the Baku-Stepanakert dialogue, including the mediation of Russian peacekeepers.
“Previously, those meetings were, of course, only social and infrastructural, and there was a dialogue, and there was a result, but starting from 12 December, Azerbaijan has changed its behavior: direct dialogue and conversations in an atmosphere of privilege has turned into a situation of pressure, and today it is even on the verge of genocide. That is why the past cannot be compared with today. At that time, we had free movement in Armenia and the opportunity to directly communicate with the international community, not by phone, but by visiting and organizing meetings. Therefore, we have to restore that format, after which there can be a real dialogue or negotiations,” the President of the Artsakh Republic said.
