120 thousand Armenians have been under siege for 214 days

Artsakh has been under siege for 214 days.

After 2014 days, the State Minister of the Republic of Artsakh, Gurgen Nersisyan, announced the indefinite popular movement. “Dear compatriots, as a result of Azerbaijan taking the people of Artsakh hostage and blocking the road connecting it with Armenia, the humanitarian situation in Artsakh is getting worse day by day, and if this continues, we will have severe and irreversible consequences, which we cannot allow, so we are starting an indefinite popular movement from tomorrow.”

For 29 days, Azerbaijan has blocked the humanitarian transportation of all types and cargoes to Artsakh.

In the evening of 8 July, gas supply from Armenia to Artsakh was restored. Then the Artsakh InfoCenter reported that the gas pressure level in the only Armenia-Artsakh gas pipeline began to drop, which means that the Azerbaijani side closed the valve on the pipeline.

Later, it was reported that the Azerbaijani side completely cut off the gas supply that was restored yesterday in the afternoon.

“The Court considers that it is necessary to apply a temporary measure and court records that Azerbaijan is obliged to take the measures that depend on it to ensure the uninterrupted movement of people and goods in both directions through the Lachin Corridor.”

However, the fact is that the road is still closed.

Due to the lack of international pressure on Azerbaijan, the Armenians of Artsakh are facing a humanitarian disaster. The appeals of the international community have been ignored by the leadership of Azerbaijan until now.

Fundamental human rights have been violated for 214 days, and international organizations and states are silent.

Due to the terrorist behavior of the Azerbaijani side, the villages of Shushi region are completely cut off from the capital of Artsakh and other settlements.

It should be noted that the Governing Board of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia also made a statement. “This blockade, under the guise of environmentalism, pursues   the realization of the corrupt ambitions of the despotic leadership of Azerbaijan to seize the most important assets of Artsakh’s economy.”
