Today is RA Constitution Day and my birthday. Artak Beglaryan, advisor to the former Minister of State of the Republic of Artsakh, wrote on his Facebook page.
“Congratulating all our Armenians on the Mother Law Day of Mother Armenia, I do not expect any congratulations on my anniversary. Instead, I would like to once again draw the attention of every person who respects me to the current state of Artsakh and what everyone should do.
In these difficult conditions, what the Armenians of Artsakh lack most is not so much food, fuel or other material means, but practical attention. Of course, the main cross in this struggle is borne by the Armenians of Artsakh, assuming their share of national responsibility, but we expect attention primarily from the Armenian people and the Armenian state, as the owner and main beneficiary of Artsakh. During the blockade, there were many initiatives to support Artsakh, and we are grateful to the authors and participants of all of them.
Now we have a task to make the initiatives supporting Artsakh more practical and massive, from which I would like to mention the “Hayakve” (Armenian Vote) today. It is practical because it aims to strengthen and guarantee the state-national obligations regarding Artsakh and the Armenian Genocide stipulated by the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia through the use of a clear mechanism. And the main value of Hayakve is the practical and ideological consolidation around Artsakh, which conveys clear signals to the Armenians of Artsakh that we are not left alone in our just and national struggle.
Artsakh is of exceptional importance for the past, present and future of the Armenian people and Armenian statehood, and therefore it is the national and civil obligation of every Armenian to serve the goal of an Armenian and safe Artsakh. This can be done both by conscientious state-national service, by joining Hayakve or another action, by implementing other programs, by carrying out demand-making and awareness actions in Armenia and other countries, and in many other ways. However, I would like to emphasize that the primary way to help Artsakh is NOT TO HARM: one of the active forms of damage is pushing into Azerbaijani abyss, even with words, inciting a split between the people of Artsakh and other parts of Armenia, etc., and the passive forms are: indifference, despair, adaptation, etc.
So, dear compatriots, in all corners of the world, using my holiday and birthday rights, I am asking, exhorting and demanding each of you as a brother:
- Do not harm Artsakh, thereby the entire Armenian nation and the Armenian statehood,
- Do not let others to hurt as well,
- Do not give in to the hostile trap of despair and hopelessness.
- Support any initiative supporting Artsakh in the most practical ways possible.
- Do not forget that the goal is achieved through struggle, the struggle is also accompanied by hardships, and without struggle, the nations quickly fall from under the sun to the ground,” he wrote.
