On 19 June, the representatives of the Human Rights Defender visited the “Nubarashen” penitentiary of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs and had a private conversation with Armen Ashotyan.

HRD representatives got acquainted with his health condition and conditions of detention on the spot.
Armen Ashotyan did not complain about the attitude of the administration of the prison, as well as the conditions of detention.
In relation to the initiated criminal proceedings and chosen preventive detention Ashotyan presented his concerns and position.
The results of the visit will be summarized and a corresponding letter will be sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office of RA with the request to provide the necessary clarifications.
