The communication department of the “Dasaran” Educational Center informs that the Special Physic-mathematical School after Artashes Shahinyan under the Auspices of Yerevan State University has been recognized as one of the 10 best schools in the world in 2023, according to the most prestigious World’s Best School Prizes competition.
“Schools from more than a hundred countries participate in the World’s Best School Prizes competition, but Armenia is represented in the competition for the first time. Armenia got the opportunity to participate in such a prestigious competition after education expert, Young Global Leader (2021 Young Global Leader) Suren Aloyan joined the jury for selecting the best schools of the World’s Best School Prizes competition in 2022.
The competition represents the experience of these schools, which are changing the lives of the next generation and bringing real change to their countries. The best school in the world award goes to those schools whose principals and teachers, along with academic standards, were able to provide quality education for students based on innovative ideas. The names of the winning schools will be announced in October. There will be 5 main winning schools in the competition, each of which will receive a cash prize of $50,000.
We believe that registering such a success in the competition is not only a victory for the school, but also for Armenia. Every year, the top 10 winning schools of the competition are visited, and the first faces of the country cover the school’s victory: the First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon, the President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, and others. All this is covered by world-renowned news outlets such as the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation), British “The Independent”, TES, FOX, Yahoo, etc., the message reads.
