The message of Armen Sarkisian, the Fourth President of Armenia.
“Today we commemorate the indelible memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide in 1915 in Ottoman Turkey.
The pain of the huge human and territorial loss suffered by the Armenian people more than 100 years ago still resonates in our hearts, reminding us that the right of the Armenian people to live and develop peacefully and safely in their homeland was violated, yesterday in the Ottoman Empire, today in Artsakh.
I bow to the memory of our holy martyrs who fell victim to the genocide.
We, as a people and a state, should be able to move forward and be a part of the developments taking place in the world today without retreating from our identity, history and fair demands.
