On April 18 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan met with Erika Olson, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State. Louis Bono, the Senior Adviser for Caucasus Negotiations, the U.S. Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, also participated in the meeting.

Topics related to the establishment of stability in the region, normalisation of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, border delimitation and security, unblocking of all economic and transport links in the region, and the Nagorno-Karabakh issue were discussed.
Ararat Mirzoyan presented the positions of the Armenian side regarding the settlement of the existing key issues, including addressing the issues of rights and security of Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh in order to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable peace. Minister Mirzoyan reiterated the commitment of the Republic of Armenia to the peace process, emphasising the importance of renouncing by Azerbaijan its maximalist aspirations, aggressive policy and belligerent rhetoric towards the people of Nagorno-Karabakh and the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia.
The interlocutors touched upon the humanitarian situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh, the imperative to lift the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor in accordance with the provisions of the November 9, 2020 Trilateral statement.
Views were also exchanged on issues of Armenia-US bilateral agenda, including on the strategic dialogue.
