Today, on 11 April, the Yerevan Council of Elders convened an extraordinary session, but the members of the Council of Elders were not present at the session.

Levon Hovhannisyan, Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, acting mayor announced that there is no quorum.

“Guided by Sub-Clause 3 of Clause 114 of the Regulations of the Yerevan Council of Elders, a 30-minute break is announced.”

After 30 minutes, the acting mayor announced that the session would not take place.

The extraordinary session of the Yerevan Council of Elders, which was convened in connection with the election of the mayor, did not provide a quorum again, and based on Sub-Clause 2 of Clause 114 of the Regulations of the Yerevan Council of Elders, the session is considered not to have taken place.”

It should be reminded that at the 4 April session of the Yerevan City Council of Elders, a decision was made to appoint 11 April as the day for the extraordinary election of the Mayor of Yerevan. Armen Galjian, a member of the “My Step” Faction of the Council of Aldermen, announced that the “My Step” Faction has decided not to elect a new mayor, taking into account the fact that the elections are a few months later.
