The preliminary investigation in the criminal proceedings (marked “Confidential”) in the investigative department of the National Security Service has been completed. The private participants of the proceedings were notified in writing by the body implementing the proceedings.

The Prosecutor General’s Office reported.

As part of the proceedings, the former Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia S.O. was charged with 4 counts under Article 179, Part 3, Clause 1 of the RA Criminal Code adopted on 18.04.2003 and 3 counts under Article 308, Part 2 (especially large-scale waste of property and abuse of official powers, which carelessly caused serious consequences ), to M.V., the former Head of the Real Estate Cadastre Committee of the Republic of Armenia: 2 episodes, Article 308, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code adopted on 18.04.2003 (abuse of official authority, which carelessly caused serious consequences): G.Kh., the former Commander of the N Military Unit of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, under clauses 1 and 3 of part 3 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia adopted on 18.04.2003 (money laundering, which was carried out on a particularly large scale and official using position); D.G., the Director of “Moston Engineering” Company  in accordance with Article 178, Part 3, Clause 1 and Article 325, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code adopted on 18.04.2003 (particularly large-scale fraud and document falsification). 9 persons were charged as well.

Note: A person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent until his/her guilt is proved by a court judgment that has come into legal effect pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
