On the night of 13 March, a resident of Vanatur district of Hrazdan city called the Operational Control Center of Police the Kotayk region and reported a theft. The operative group of the Hrazdan Police Department and the officers of the Kotayk battalion of the patrol service left to the scene.

The Police report that the man threatened the police officers with an ax. Firearms were used to prevent his attack, as well as to neutralize the threat to their lives and/or health. The man was transferred to “Hrazdan” Medical Center.

The 45-year-old resident of Hrazdan, who was previously convicted, died. An investigation is underway.

The circumstances are being clarified.
