On March 3, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in New Delhi for the “Raisina Dialogue” conference, had a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden Tobias Billström.

Minister Mirzoyan touched upon the achievements in democratic reforms in Armenia and in this context stressed the importance of continuous support by Armenia’s partners.
The sides exchanged views on the Armenia-EU partnership agenda. In the context of establishing stability in the region, both sides underlined the role of the EU long-term Civilian Monitoring Mission, the decision on which was made by the EU Council during the Swedish Presidency.
The Foreign Ministers also discussed issues of international and regional importance. Minister Mirzoyan briefed his colleague on the recent developments in the normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. The humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from Azerbaijan’s illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor was touched upon. In this context, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia highlighted the imperative for taking steps towards the implementation by Azerbaijan of the decision made by the International Court of Justice on February 22 regarding the request for provisional measures.
The interlocutors also touched upon issues of cooperation between Armenia and Sweden emphasizing the importance of high-level visits and the significance of developing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
