Artsakh Women addressed the Head of the European Commission with an Open Letter: Ruben Vardanyan

Today, the women of Artsakh wrote an open letter to the Head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. Artsakh State Minister Ruben Vardanyan reports.

“They call for immediate intervention and an end to Azerbaijan’s energy blockade of Artsakh. Mrs. von der Leyen is responsible for signing the agreement on increasing gas supplies from Azerbaijan to the EU.

Concerned mothers rightfully demand that their children, like children in EU countries, have the opportunity to live in warm and bright houses, eat normally, attend school and kindergarten and receive medical care. Children of Artsakh have the right to a normal life, like all children of the world. By closing the gas pipeline and cutting off electricity in Artsakh during the winter, Azerbaijan and its leadership are depriving 30,000 children of that right.

In the conditions of the created crisis, women show their determination and strength. They are our heroes and fighters for justice. Today, they serve as an example of perseverance and resistance to difficulties, reminding us of the inherent humanity of all of us.

I welcome the initiative of our women and support them. I admire their courage and resilience. Anyone who can help them should do so. For the sake of life, for the sake of children, for the sake of the future, for the sake of Artsakh.

The open letter is available on the change.org website,” he said.
