Grigor Minasyan is appointed to the post of the Minister of Justice

RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan signed a decree on 26 December, which states:

“Based on the recommendation of the Prime Minister in accordance with Article 131 of the Constitution, and Article 5, Part 1 of the Law on the Structure and Activities of the Government.

Appoint Grigor Minasyan to the post Minister of Justice.”

As we have already reported, by the decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on 25 December, he was released from the post of Deputy Minister of Justice.

Grigor Minasyan was born on 23 December, 1983.

Work activity

2003-2004 – lawyer in a private company.

2004-2009 – “Legal Institute of the RA Ministry of Justice” SNOC, Assistant to the Director for Legal Affairs, further, Deputy Director for Legal Affairs.

2008-2020 – Editor-in-chief of the scientific journal “Justice” (the journal is approved by the RA Supreme Certifying Committee).

2009-2010 – staff of the RA Ministry of Justice, Head of the Department of Relations with the European Court of Human Rights. At the same time, he taught at the “Law Institute of the Ministry of Justice of the RA” Law College of the SNCO and headed the Jurisprudence Chair of the Institute.

2010-2011 – “Institute of Law of the RA Ministry of Justice” SNCO, Head of the Law Department.

2011-2012 – Expert-Legal Advisor at the ” Institute of Law of the RA Ministry of Justice” SNCO, and then was transferred to the position of Legal Adviser to the Director.

Since 2011 – official representative of the Republic of Armenia in the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) located in Athens.

2012 – Staff of the RA Human Rights Defender, Head of the Legal Analysis Department.

2013-2018 – Elected a member of the Yerevan Council of Elders.

2013-2022 – Director of “AM Law Firm” LLC.

Since 2014 – Director of the Yerevan branch of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO).

From 12 January, 2022 to 25 December, 2022 – Deputy Minister of Justice.

Education:

1990-2000 – secondary school No. 8 named after A. Pushkin.

2000-2005 – studied and graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law of the Armenian-Russian (Slavic) University.

2005-2008 – studied at the Academy of Public Administration of RA.

In 2008, defended his scientific thesis and became a candidate of legal sciences.

Other information

Languages – Armenian, English and Russian.

Since 2012 – member of the Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia.

He is married and has three daughters.

Grigor Minasyan is the brother of Mikael Minasyan, former RA Ambassador to the Holy See.
