Active discussions on the concept of comprehensive health insurance, having gone a long way, are entering the final stage.
The Ministry of Health reported.
Today, the representatives of the World Bank mission, the relevant government departments, the National Assembly’s Health Committee and international experts met to summarize the current discussions and further steps.
According to the Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, the goal of the reform is to preserve and improve the health of the population and develop human capital.
“Reforms in the healthcare sector should be correctly calculated, with a clear methodology, based on international experience. Funding is one of the main elements of this reform, but we see it not only as an increase in funding, but also as an integral part of our most important reforms. They are the reforms of the PHC circle, and quality management mechanisms. This reform will be complete, comprehensive and cornerstone, all directions should receive sufficient attention.”
The participants of the meeting confirmed that the introduction of comprehensive health insurance is a necessity, because the solutions to the demographic, economic, security and other problems of the country are directly related to the health of the population.
