The question-and-answer session of Çavuşoğlu and Garo Paylan on the Armenian-Turkish topic

“Our settlement policies have become an important part of Turkey’s active foreign policy in 2022. We are implementing the settlement process with Armenia for peace and welfare in the South Caucasus. In coordination with Azerbaijan, we will continue our attempts to make Armenia a part of peace.”

After the speech, he also had a short debate with Garo Paylan, a member of the pro-Kurdish “People’s Democratic Party” (HDP) of Turkey, after the latter’s extensive speech.

Paylan presented his views on the settlement of Armenian-Turkish relations. Paylan stressed the importance of Turkey taking an important role in the regulation of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.

“Pashinyan calls for peace, extends his hand. This time Aliyev is among the most devoutly expected regarding the formation of the negotiation table. What is the force balancing these expectations? France, America or Russia? We are. If we take a role, we can sit and ensure a just peace, we can ensure a just peace for the future of the Azeri and Armenian peoples,” Karo Paylan said, in response to which, according to “Anadolu” agency, Çavuşoğlu emphasized:

“You said that it is Azerbaijan that does not want peace. That is not a correct observation. Azerbaijan proposed the signing of a comprehensive peace treaty.”

Emphasizing that Turkey and Azerbaijan are sincere, Çavuşoğlu urged Armenia”to be honest” as well.
