In the criminal proceedings investigated by the RA Anticorruption Committee, factual data was obtained that illegal business activities were organized and carried out by the employees of an LLC engaged in passenger transportation through a number of drivers from Armavir city to Yerevan and vice versa in different cars without special permission.

The Anti-Corruption Committee reported.

According to the preliminary investigation, it was found that the said illegal activity in the area of ​​the bus station of Armavir city was coordinated by S.H. and G.E., who were in close relations with A.S., the Deputy Head of the Patrol Service of the Armavir Department of the RA Police.

The latter, having learned about the above-mentioned activity without special permission, and for showing obvious illegal inaction in favor of S.H and G.E, that is, for not preventing and not revealing the apparent administrative offense, demanded a bribe from them.

As a result, between December 2021 and April 2022 S.H and G.E collected a total of AMD 220,000 in bribes from drivers and gave to A.S. at his request, a part of which was transferred on different days through payment terminals to A.S.’ electronic wallet.

For committing the above-mentioned criminal acts, A.S. was charged under part 2 of Article 311 of the RA Criminal Code (entered into force on 01.08.2003, expired on 01.07.2022). S.H. and G.E. in accordance with part 1 of Article 436 of the current Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.

On 03.11.2022, A.S., S.H and G.E, were arrested by the investigator of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee.

On 04.11.2022, a motion to select arrest as a measure of restraints against A.S. was submitted to the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, which was granted.

The investigation is in process.
