Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan referred to Artur Davtyan’s becoming the world champion in gymnastics. He specifically wrote on his Facebook page:
“The anthem of the Republic of Armenia was played for the first time at the world gymnastics championships. Thanks to the vault world champion, gymnast Artur Davtyan.”
It should be noted that in the vault finals of the World Gymnastics Championship in Liverpool, England, European champion, Olympic bronze medalist Arthur Davtyan won a gold medal by collecting 15,000 points.
Davtyan is the first gymnast of independent Armenia to win the World Champion title.
