During the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings initiated by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee, a case of concealment of data on 7 immovable properties of particularly large sizes subject to declaration by the former Governor of Tavush, who was an official, has been revealed.
In particular, it was found that H.A., having held the position of Tavush Marz Governor of RA since 15 May, 2014 and being a declarant official, having the duty to submit a declaration of property, income and interests in the event of termination of official duties, in the declaration submitted to the Commission on Ethics of High–Ranking Officials on 26 June, 2018 intentionally did not include – hid the data on 7 immovable properties with a cadastral value of AMD 3,035,946, located in the city of Yerevan and Tavush Marz, subject to declaration.
For the above-mentioned criminal act H.A. was charged under Article 314.3, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code in force at the time of committing the alleged crime (entered into force on 1 August, 2003, expired on 1 July, 2022) (deliberate concealment of declaration data).
The preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings regarding H.A. has been completed. The materials of the proceedings with the indictment were handed over to the supervising prosecutor with a request to approve it and send it to the court.
Note: A person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent until his/her guilt is proved by a court judgment that has come into legal effect pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
