On 23 September, the Head of the CSTO mission, CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas met with the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Vahe Gevorgyan in Yerevan. The CSTO Telegram channel informs.
It is noted that the parties discussed the situation and the necessary joint political and diplomatic measures aimed at easing tension in the region.
The CSTO mission arrived in the Republic of Armenia in accordance with the decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council’s extraordinary session on 13 September.
According to the report, the mission has a task to assess the current situation, prepare a detailed report to the leaders of the CSTO member states on the situation in the region, and develop proposals for easing the tension in some parts of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
