On 22 September, Stanislav Zas, Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in Armenia, visited the border region of the Vayots Dzor region, on the border with the Republic of Azerbaijan, as part of the work of the CSTO mission.The CSTO Secretariat informed “Armenpress”.
CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas led his delegation to the border region of the Vayots Dzor province near the border with Azerbaijan as part of their visit to Armenia, the CSTO Secretariat said in a statement.
Zas met with the commanders of the Armenian Armed Forces units deployed at the line of contact, as well as with local authorities. Zas also inspected the areas which were bombarded and talked with servicemen who participated in the military operations.
CSTO Secretary General, Head of Mission Stanislav Zas arrived in Armenia in accordance with the decision of the Collective Security Council’s extraordinary session on 13 September. The mission includes representatives of the CSTO member states, who are employees of the organization’s working bodies.
The CSTO mission is in Armenia to assess the situation and prepare a report for leaders of CSTO member states following the Azerbaijani attack on Armenia.
