On 11 August, the Armenian Lawyers’ Association hosted the students of 8th Stream of the Anti-Corruption School for Young Leaders. During the meeting, the audience talked about international anti-corruption initiatives and documents, national anti-corruption initiatives, legal documents and bodies, fight against corruption and its stages, as well as development, monitoring and evaluation of anti-corruption strategies.
Mr. Karen Zadoyan, the President of the ALA, the founder of the Anti-Corruption School, discussed with the participants the effectiveness of the ongoing anti-corruption reforms, the transparency and reasonableness of personnel elections in the anti-corruption bodies, the existing and future potential problems.
Apart from the development of an effective anti-corruption strategy, Karen Zadoyan particularly emphasized the selection of merits based personnel in the field, noting that the key to success in the fight against corruption is professional, personnel carrying integrity values and the national identity.
The participants were given the opportunity to raise their comments and questions of interest about the topics.
