Tension continues to persist in some parts of the contact line. The steps towards de-escalation of the situation and preventing further escalation are ongoing by the leadership of the Republic, the command of the Defense Ministry and the Russian peacekeeping troops.

Notably, on 1 August, starting at 09:00, in a number of parts of the northern and northwestern border zone of the Republic of Artsakh, the Azerbaijani units resorted to provocation by making attempts to cross the contact line, which were stopped by the forces of the Defense Forces. As a result of the provocation by the Azerbaijani units, the serviceman of the Armed Forces, Albert Vladik Bakhshiyan, was wounded.
