Steady tension is maintained. As it was reported, the leadership of the Republic, together with the command of the Defense Forces and the command of the Russian peacekeeping troops, are taking steps to defuse the tension and prevent further escalation.

Notably, on 1 August, starting at 09:00, in a number of parts of the northern and northwestern border zone of the Republic of Artsakh, the Azerbaijani units resorted to provocation by making attempts to cross the contact line. The attempts were stopped by the units of the Defense Forces.
As a result of the provocation by the Azerbaijani units, the serviceman of the Armed Forces, Albert Vladik Bakhshiyan, was wounded. It is noted that the condition of the wounded serviceman is assessed as satisfactory.
