The official opening ceremony of the “Hrazdan, Youth Capital – 2022” program took place.
In a solemn ceremony, Hrazdan was given the symbolic transfer key and the certificate, with which the city of Hrazdan was awarded the title of “Youth Capital of the Year of the Republic of Armenia”.
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports reported.
Artur Martirosyan, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, and Sevak Mikayelyan, head of the Hrazdan community, were present at the start of the project.
The events started with a march to the city memorial to immortal heroes in Makravan district; the parents and relatives of the heroes of the Artsakh wars also participated.
As part of the event, an exhibition of the works of young artists from Hrazdan (painting, sculpture, decorative applied art, etc.) took place in the Children’s and Youth Creative Center of Hrazdan.
The exhibition was followed by the official ceremony of handing over “The 2022 Youth Capital of Armenia” certificate and the symbolic key at the Hrazdan Drama Theater.
Artur Martirosyan, deputy minister of MoESCS, congratulated Hrazdan residents on the occasion of the holiday. “Balanced territorial development presupposes accessibility and availability of social, educational and cultural services, regardless of the place of residence. The young people of Hrazdan should also have the opportunity to live a lively youth life. I want Hrazdan, as the youth capital, to continue its functions not only in this regard, but also in the following years.
The Mayor of Hrazdan, Sevak Mikayelyan, also stated in his speech that the title of the Youth Capital is binding, and they are ready to support young people in all constructive projects.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and the Hrazdan Municipality. The purpose of the memorandum is to promote the development of the city of Hrazdan, to support the initiatives of young people, to contribute to the development of infrastructure and the implementation of programs of youth organizations at the local, national and international levels.
The festive day ended with a concert program. Events will continue throughout the year.
