Earlier we reported that the former governor of Shirak, Karen Sarukhanyan, will replace Artur Davtyan, deputy of the “Civil Contract” Faction, in the National Assembly, who was appointed as a judge of the civil case investigation of the Anti-Corruption Chamber of the Court of Cassation and resigned.

Karen Sarukhanyan has held a number of positions: he was the Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the RA (September – December 2021), from June 2018 to January 2019 he was the Governor of the Shirak Marz of the RA, on 9 December, 2018, he was elected to the National Assembly on the list of the “My Step” Party Alliance. In 2021, he was elected the chairman of the Gyumri Territorial Council of the “Civil Contract” Party.
