The necessary measures are being taken in the Aragatsotn Regional Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee ,to find out all the circumstances of the explosion that took place in the branch of “Unibank” OJSC.

The Investigative Committee reported.

The report about the explosion that took place in Ashtarak city was received at the 911 service of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations on 6 July 2022, at 09:05.

The explosion took place at the Ashtarak branch of “Unibank” OJSC around 09:03, according to preliminary data, as a result of a gas leak, as a result of which seven employees were taken to the hospital with various degrees of physical injuries, one of whom died in the hospital.

Proceedings have been initiated under Article 412, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code, and a preliminary investigation is underway.

By the decision of the body implementing the procedure, forensic medical, forensic explosives, forensic engineering, forensic fire engineering, forensic commodification and forensic investigations were appointed.

Instructions have been given to the investigative body.

Note: A person suspected or accused of an alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a court judgment that has entered into force.
