The regular sitting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CSTO member states was held

On 24 May, the regular sitting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CSTO member states under the chairmanship of the RA Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan was held via videoconferencing.

The defense ministers discussed issues related to military security challenges and threats in the areas of collective security, as well as the implementation of proposals based on the results of the CSTO peacekeeping mission in Kazakhstan.

The participants of the meeting approved a number of other issues of joint training planning, development and improvement of the system of basic teaching-methodological-research organizations, on the joint formation of radiation, chemical and biological protection and medical support in the means of the forces of the collective security system.

At the end of the sitting, the RA Minister of Defense offered the CSTO Secretary to organize the signing of all the adopted documents individually.

The next sitting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CSTO member states is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022, in the Republic of Armenia, on the eve of the CSTO Collective Security Council’s Assembly.
