Armenia has started paying for Russian gas in rubles. The Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan stated in an interview with RBC.
“We need to move to national currencies. There is progress on the Russian side in this direction,” he said.
According to him, the pricing is done in dollars, but the payment is made in rubles. “As far as I know, the last few payments were in rubles, but at the appropriate exchange rate,” said Vahan Kerobyan.
Gazprom’s official representative Sergey Kupriyanov noted that Gazprom’s contract on gas supply to Armenia has allowed to pay for gas in rubles for several years, and this opportunity is being used.
