The Police employees should be entitled to use firearms in the following case:
1) while stopping a vehicle by damaging it if the driver creates real danger for the life and health of citizens and does not obey the signals of the police officer to stop the vehicle,
2) while rendering harmless the animals threatening the life and health of citizens,
3) while warning about the intention to employ an arm, while declaring an alarm or calling for help.It shall be prohibited to employ firearms against obviously pregnant women, obviously disabled persons and minors (with the exception of cases of armed or group attacks and resistance on their behalf, dangerous for the life of citizens), as well as during considerable accumulation of people when other persons may suffer from the exercise of firearms.
In all cases of exercise of a firearm, a police officer shall submit a report to his/her superior immediately after the exercise of the firearm.
The list of firearms and the types of ammunition in the armament of the Police shall be approved by the Government of the Republic of Armenia. It shall be prohibited to accept those types of firearms and ammunition into the armament of the Police which cause especially grave injuries or are a source of unjustifiable risk.
The order of the right to keep and use listed firearms, ammunition and explosives shall be provided by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
