The International Day of Francophonie has, this year, a special significance for Armenia since we are celebrating ten years of Armenia’s membership in the International Organization of Francophonie as a full Member.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
The cultural and historical ties that unite Armenia and Francophonie are solid and inalienable and result from the spirit of cooperation that prevails within the French-speaking community.
It is with immense enthusiasm that our country has committed itself during these years to promoting the values of Francophonie in the service of cultural diversity, democracy, human rights and freedoms and is resolutely determined to continue its efforts.
After having had the honor of hosting the 18th Summit of Francophonie, Armenia continues to assume, with the same ardor, the Presidency-in-Office of the Summit of Francophonie since the year 2018. The smooth running of this Presidency and the effective contribution of Armenia to the International Organization of Francophonie, as well as the dissemination of the ideals of Francophonie are among the priorities of the Armenian Government.
This year again, Armenia is actively involved in the organization of cultural and educational events aimed at celebrating the richness and diversity of French-speaking cultures and our common values.
To this end, several events will be organized in Yerevan and in all regions of Armenia with the participation and contribution of French-speaking actors present in Armenia as well as institutions and local authorities who, through their passion and creativity, ensure the success of this French-speaking season.
I am convinced that these initiatives will make it possible to strengthen the bonds of solidarity and friendship that unite us within the French-speaking world and to affirm our unfailing attachment to French-speaking culture.
To conclude, I wish a successful process to the events organized in Armenia on the occasion of the International Francophonie Day.
