As a result of effective cooperation between the General Prosecutor’s Offices of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation, the expulsion of an Armenian citizen born in Azerbaijan to the Republic of Azerbaijan was prevented.
The Prosecutor General’s Office reported.
Taking into account the fact that the person had committed an administrative offense in the territory of the Russian Federation, the court made a decision on administrative liability, subjecting him to administrative expulsion from the territory of the Russian Federation.
In the introductory part of the decision of the relevant court of the Russian Federation on administrative liability, the court erroneously stated that the person was a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and in these circumstances there was a real danger of deportation to Azerbaijan.
Despite the fact that there is no connection between the powers of the RA Prosecutor’s Office and that deportation process, the RA Prosecutor General’s Office took immediate measures to stop the process, involving the RF General Prosecutor’s Office and the RA state authorized bodies.
With the support of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the issue was brought to the attention of the court that made the above-mentioned decision, which in a short period of time amended the inaccuracy in its decision with a corresponding additional decision, and the person was returned to Armenia.
