As we reported earlier, the powers of Lusine Mkhoyan, a member of the “My Step” faction of the Yerevan Council of Elders, would be suspended.

On 14 February, the relevant statement was adopted, by which the powers of the member of the Council of Elders were terminated.

Iravaban.net reports that Article 20 of the Law on Local Self-Government in the City of Yerevan defines the grounds for early termination and seasing of the powers of a member of the Council of Elders. According to Part 2 of the Article, the term of office of a member of the Council of Elders may be terminated prematurely by a decision of the majority of the total number of members of the Council of Elders if he/she is absent from more than half of the sessions or votes
