Acting President of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan received People’s Artists of the USSR Ruben Matevosyan, Robert Amirkhanyan, Nara Shlepchyan, People’s Artist of the USSR, National Hero of Armenia Hovhannes Chekidjian, People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia Rafael Kotanjyan, Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia Evelina Shahiryan and Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Armenia, President of the Writers’ Union of Armenia Edward Militonyan..

Welcoming the guests, Alen Simonyan noted that it is a great honor to host them, to emphasize their invaluable contribution to the development and enrichment of Armenian culture.

Issues related to culture and various branches of art were discussed at the solemn reception. The veterans of the Armenian culture highlighted the state care for art and the need to present the Armenian culture in the best world platforms.

At the end of the meeting, the President of the Composers’ Union Robert Amirkhanyan performed some of his famous works at the request of those present.
