As a result of investigative-judicial actions carried out in the Syunik Regional Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee, the circumstances of the case of an attempted murder by a woman against her husband were found out.

According to the factual data obtained during the investigation, the 30-year-old resident of Goris, being aware of her husband’s extramarital affair, on August 25, 2021, at around 2:00 pm, with the intention of illegally killing her husband, she took a bottle full of gasoline from home and went to the cattering point on Artsakh Highway in Goris, where her husband’s girlfriend worked. There she met the latter and her husband, an argument over personal issues arose between them, during which the woman poured flammable liquid on her husband and set him on fire, but she did not end the crime against her will, as the husband ran to a nearby car wash, where he extinguished the fire and then was taken to the medical center.

With the combination of sufficient evidence obtained, the woman was charged with Article 34-104, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. The signature on not leaving was chosen as measure of restraint against her.

The preliminary investigation was completed, the criminal case was sent to the prosecutor supervising the trial with the motion to confirm the indictment and send the case to the court.

Note: A person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent until his/her guilt is proved by a court judgment that has come into legal effect pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
