Today, on 4 February, at the first session of the Constitutional Reform Council, Yeghishe Kirakosyan, the representative of Armenia in the ECHR, member of the Council was elected Deputy Chairman of the Council.

Kirakosyan was nominated by the member of the Council Arthur Sakunts, President of the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor Office. According to him, the logic of the reforms of the Constitutional Reform Council, should be apolitical, non-partisan, therefore, it would be good if the deputy Chairman of the Council would be a person who is not associated with the party.

Kirakosyan’s candidacy was also supported by Council member, member of the “Civil Contract” Faction Vladimir Vardanyan.
