On 16 January, at 4:07 pm, the Syunik Regional Crisis Management Center received an alarm that an accident had taken place on the Kapan-Kajaran highway, near the “Caravan” restaurant.
A fire brigade from the fire-rescue detachment of the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations left for the scene.
According to the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations, it turned out that the “Opel Zafira” car came out of the road, collided with the gas pipeline and rolled into the gorge (about 30 m).
Before the rescuers arrived to the scene, the driver and 1 passenger were was hospitalized in Kapan MC. The rescuers cut off the power of the car, took two passengers out of the car and approached the ambulance. The latter were hospitalized in Kapan MC as well.
