Kotayk Regional Administration informs.

“Vahan Vachagan Babayan (born in 2003), a soldier from Hrazdan city of Kotayk region, was killed in a provocation carried out by Azerbaijani units in the eastern direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border yesterday.

Vahan, a 19-year-old conscript, was the current adult champion of the Armenian Olympic Taekwondo. Vahan was also a participant of the European Championship; he was the champion of the youth championship.

Vahan was drafted into the army in the summer of 2021.

Kotayk Regional Administration extends its condolences to the hero’s family, relatives and friends.
