Armenia that currently chairs the CSTO Collective Security Council will organize by the video conference the sitting of the CSTO Collective Security Council on 10 January, the Information and Public Relations Department of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia informed.
On 8 January, the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan had a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, during which the proposal of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomrat Tokayev to hold a meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council was discussed.
The Kremlin press service reported, “During the telephone conversations between Vladimir Putin, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, they discussed the current situation in Kazakhstan, which has a tendency to calm down and normalize.
The parties supported the proposal of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomrat Tokayev to hold a meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council in the near future. Nikol Pashinyan stated that the Armenian side, which currently chairs the CSTO, will organize the event.”
