According to Article 155, Part 1 of the Constitutional Law “Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly”, Sedrak Tevonyan, a member of the “Civil Contract” Faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, submitted application on resignation on 4 January.

The NA President Alen Simonyan mentioned in the statement.

“According to Part 2 of Article 155 of the Constitutional Law “Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly”,  If a Deputy, within one week after the promulgation of the resignation, with a written application: withdraws his/her resignation, then the Chairperson of the National Assembly shall take the floor with a statement about it; if does not withdraw his/her application on resignation, a record shall be made on the discontinuation of his/her powers, which shall be signed and promulgated by the Chairperson of the National Assembly. The resignation shall be deemed as adopted from the moment of the promulgation of the report.
