The SJC rejected the challenge motions submitted to the 5 members of the Council

The Supreme Judicial Council is examining the motion submitted by the Minister of Justice to impose disciplinary liability on Judge the Court of First Instance of Yerevan Zaruhi Nakhshkaryan.

Judge’s representative Siranuysh Sahakyan stated that she was mediating to challenge members of the Supreme Judicial Council Gagik Jhangiryan, Grigor Bekmezyan, David Khachaturyan, Vigen Kocharyan, and Liparit Melikjanyan. She mentioned that there are problems of “objective” and “subjective” impartiality.

The mentioned members of the SJC were appointed by “My Step” political force, without independent competition procedures. Their nomination and election was a result of the mood of the leader of one political force and political expediency. The role of the opposition was ignored, so the candidates were elected not by the parliament, but by a political force,” Sahakyan said.

According to her, the mentioned members of the Council also crossed the limits of professional competence, showed that they can make any decision with “Nikol Pashinyan” motive, regardless of the degree of professional justification.

According to Sahakyan, the mentioned members of the Council are politically dependent on Nikol Pashinyan.

By its decisions, the SJC rejected the motions to challenge the members of the Council Gagik Jhangiryan, Grigor Bekmezyan, Davit Khachaturyan, Vigen Kocharyan and Liparit Melikjanyan.
