During the discussion on the fate of prisoners of war and their rights, Siranush Sahakyan, a human rights activist representing the interests of Armenian prisoners of war, stated that 40 prisoners of war were being held in Azerbaijan until the 16 November incident, but human rights activists said is in captivity. However, the fact-finding of human rights activists proves that this is not a real number, at least 80 more people were taken prisoner․ “But Azerbaijan refuses to formalize their captivity and they are currently in the status of forcibly disappeared. Attempts have been made to find out the fate of the missing people through various sources, but so far there is no information whether they are being hidden or are killed, and Azerbaijan refuses to return their bodies in order to hide the traces of the crime.”

The human rights activist also reaffirmed hir statement on the number of people captured by the Azerbaijanies in connection with the 16 November hostilities in Syunik. According to Sahakyan, they are more than 3 dozen.

“It was painful for us that that number did not correspond to reality were made official in the days following the capture.
