On 8 December, at the Meghri customs, the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Rustam Badasyan met with a delegation led by the Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Mehdi Mirashrafi, who arrived in Armenia on a working visit.

Rustam Badasyan and Mehdi Mirashraf had a tour in the area of Meghri checkpoint, got acquainted with the conditions created for the service of citizens carrying out foreign economic activities and citizens. The Chairman of the State Revenue Committee and the Head of the Customs Administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran were introduced to the procedures for the proper organization of all stages of the border crossing process.
During the meeting, Rustam Badasyan and Mehdi Mirashrafi touched upon the issues of mutual interest in customs cooperation, the simplification of customs procedures between the two countries, and the steps aimed at improving the conditions of cargo transportation. The parties discussed the possibilities of preliminary exchange of information, the mechanisms of increasing the effectiveness of the fight against smuggling, as well as the need to intensify the direct contacts of the leaders of the Norduz-Meghri border checkpoints.
Within the framework of the visit, on 9 December, the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Rustam Badasyan and the Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration Mehdi Mirashrafi are scheduled to have a private conversation in Yerevan.
