“One of the important points of the statment has been fully implemented. There are Russian peacekeepers deployed along the Lachin corridor in Nagorno Karabakh, whose activities we highly appreciate, they are key players in ensuring security in the NKR today, this should be recorded,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Public TV.
According to him, the ceasefire regime is not fully observed in Nagorno Karabakh, peacekeepers have registered this as well. The Prime Minister hopes that a proper investigation of these cases will be carried out.
“Let’s remember the recent outrageous cases, when a civilian carrying out agricultural work was hit by a Azerbaijani sniper while driving a tractor, there was a peacekeeper sitting next to him in the tractor, and the case when we had 5 wounded servicemen. I must state that we have had many wounded and victims since 9 November,” he said.
Nikol Pashinyan mentioned that after the signing of the statement, the Armenian side had about 28 victims, also on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. This is a very disturbing fact.
“I must say that we have had cases of hostilities, in particular, what happened in the Khtsaberd-Hin Tagher section, also Sotk-Khoznavar, which is a gross violation of a trilateral statement. I must emphasize that most of the 40 prisoners we have confirmed today were taken prisoner after the 9 November statement, they have not been released yet, contrary to the 8th point of the statement,” Nikol Pashinyan said.
He said there was no difference whether the capture took place before or after 9 November.
