The Court of General Jurisdiction of the city of Yerevan published the decision on the motion on withdrawal of the judge submitted by the lawyer of the former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan.

Thus, presiding judge Anna Danibekyan rejected the motion.

Notably, Gevorgyan’s lawyer Alexander Kochubayev submitted a motion to challenge the presiding judge Anna Danibekyan. The Defender mentioned that in another criminal case he and Judge Danibekyan are on different sides of the case. Kochubayev is a witness on the defense side, and Danibekyan is a victim.

In 2020 the lawyer defended the interests of citizen Narek Mantashyan, who was accused of revealing personal information about Judge Danibekyan, but was later called to court as a witness. According to Kochubaev, Judge Danibekyan has an obvious prejudice against him and cannot be objective. “As far as I know, today is your birthday. Make a present for yourself, accept the challenge petition.”
