The National Institutes of Health continues to publish information on vaccines.
The Chinese “CoronaVac” vaccine was developed by the “Sinovac” biopharmaceutical company in Beijing. The “CoronaVac” works by killing the virus particles by introducing the body’s immune system to the virus and creating antibodies. It cannot cause disease, reproduce or integrate into human DNA. The vaccine has been approved by the World Health Organization for use against COVID-19.
The “Moderna” vaccine is indicated for the prevention of coronavirus disease for the active immunosuppression of 18-year-old and older persons. The overall effectiveness of the “Moderna” vaccine is 94.1%. The vaccine is highly effective in people over the age of 18, regardless of gender or ethnicity.
