On 20 October the RA NA Deputy Speaker Ishkhan Saghatelyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the RA Sergey Kopirkin.

The parties discussed a number of issues related to the security situation in the region and stressed the important role of the Russian Federation in these processes. Ishkhan Saghatelyan expressed his concern over the aggression carried out by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia.

The interlocutors referred to the mission of the Russian peacekeeping forces in the Artsakh Republic, the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, presenting to each other their positions on the settlement of the issues. Ishkhan Saghatelyan expressed special gratitude for the important role Russia played in the return of Armenian prisoners of war. Both sides highlighted the issue of immediate return of Armenian prisoners of war to the homeland.

At the end of the meeting the parties stressed the need to develop inter-parliamentary and inter-party relations.
