The issue of electing the Deputy Chairman is being discussed at the sitting of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security of the National Assembly. The NA “Armenia” faction again nominated Arthur Ghazinyan.

The ruling majority did not elect Ghazinyan for the 6th time as the Deputy Chairman of the Committee. The oppositionists had left the session hall of the Committee earlier.

On 28 September, the Chairman of the Committee Andranik Kocharyan stated during the previous sitting of the Committee that if the “Armenia” faction nominates the same candidate again, he will not be elected, the “Civil Contract” will come up with a legislative initiative and will settle the issue in another way.

The following change will be made, “If the same person is not elected deputy chairman of the committee twice, then the competent faction nominates a new candidate.”
