Within the framework of the sitting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS member states in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, the trilateral meeting of the RA Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov and the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev took place.
The parties stressed the importance of the format of the trilateral meeting, especially in terms of promoting stability and legitimacy in Artsakh and the region, the normal life of the people of Artsakh, and efforts to establish security.
The parties also appreciated the joint efforts made in the process of searching for missing persons and servicemen during the war and the exchange of information mediated between the parties, and stressed the need to continue this work.
General readiness was also expressed on the observance of the agreements reached on the exchange of information on various violations of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Armed Forces, on the communication of various violations and the continuation of the process as a connecting link, reserving the main role to the representatives of the Russian has been evaluated highly.
During the meeting, RA Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan stressed the necessity to return Armenian citizens detained in Azerbaijan, which is envisaged by Clause 8 of the trilateral statement on the ceasefire signed on 9 November, 2020, which can be an important impetus for peace, further cooperation and security in the region and to create the preconditions for trust between the parties.
The RA Prosecutor General conveyed the readiness of the Armenian side in connection with the discussions on the introduction of bilateral information exchange formats aimed at ensuring lasting peace in the region, avoiding escalation and possible violations, and clarifying their circumstances.
During the meeting, the sides praised the individual efforts of the Russian side and personally the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov in alleviating tensions in the region, resolving humanitarian issues, establishing a dialogue between the parties.
