An appeal has been filed against the 10 September decision of the Syunik Region Court of First Instance on leaving the pre-trial detention of Goris Mayor Arush Arushanyan unchanged. Lawyer Erik Aleksanyan reported.
The defense filed a motion to replace the detention with bail, offering a minimum threshold of 20 million drams. Arushanyan did not appear in court. The defenders read his e-application, according to which Arushanyan is in poor health and it is difficult to pass the Goris-Yerevan road.
It should be reminded that on 15 July, the Special Investigation Service reported that Arush Arushanyan, the head of Goris community of Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia, ranked 32nd on the “Armenia” Alliance electoral list, had a personal, group interest in securing maximum votes in favor of the Alliance, had prepared a serious crime, that is, bribing two or more voters.
